CHP news June 2026
Dr Ehsan Alkizwini was elected to CHP Board in March 2026 and joined as CHP’s representative on the NCL GP Provider Collaborative in April 2026. Dr Alkizwini is a partner at West Hampstead Medical Centre.
Following elections in June, our three current board members will stand down. We would like to thank Doctors Claire Chalmers-Watson, Phil Posner and Aura Zahan for their great contributions since 2023.
We warmly welcome our new board members, Dr Jessica Harland, GP Partner Gower Street Practice and Brondesbury Medical Centre, Dr Sarah Morgan, GP Partner Hampstead Group Practice, Dr Ann-Marie Tully, GP Partner Parliament Hill Medical Centre who will start in July.
CHP will be providing the Camden Bridging Service from July 2026
Following a competitive procurement process, CHP has been selected to provide additional GP appointments for patients registered with a Camden practice weekday evenings 6.30pm to 8.00pm and 8.00am to 8.00pm weekends and bank holidays. Please click here for more information.
CHP and Camden Council appointment Primary Care Clinical lead for Children and Young People Health Equity June 2026
We are very pleased to have appointed Chaima Hale from Hampstead Group Practice. She will continue some of the work she did as CYP clinical lead for Camden but has broader responsibilities including reducing inequalities across a number of priority areas and neighbourhood development for children and young people.
CHP is part of Neighbourhood Integrator arrangements for Camden September 2025
In August 2025, CHP, CHE and UCLH were nominated by the Camden Partnership Board (CICE) to be the integrator for Camden. In September, we were confirmed by the ICB as the integrator for Camden.
CHP & Camden Council appoint two Health Improvement Clinical Leads August 2025
We are very pleased to have made a further two health improvement clinical leads with Camden Council. Dr Punit Sandhu will be clinical lead for homelessness. Dr Sandhu is Lead GP at Camden Health Improvement Practice and clinical director at HMP Pentonville. Dr Philip Taylor will be clinical lead for work and health support. Currently Dr Taylor works as a GP at Parliament Hill Group Practice and the Special Allocation Service. He has had a varied career including working for the International Red Cross Committee as a Detention Doctor, visiting prisons and promoting standards of humane detention.
Joint appointment with Camden Council on Health Improvement Clinical Lead Stop Smoking February 2025
Dr Tim McDowall has been appointed to a role to make stop smoking interventions as effective as possible. Tim will work with Camden’s Health and Wellbeing Team. Tim is a salaried GP and GP trainer at Caversham Group Practice. It’s great to have him on board working on this important public health initiative.
CHP appoints Joint Clinical Lead for LTC and enhanced services July 2024
CHP is pleased to announce that following a review of quality improvement clinical support to practices, we have appointed Drs Aythen Sohrabe and Birgit Curtis as joint clinical leads. They will join regular ICB LTC and enhanced service meetings and support CHP practices in delivering better outcomes for patients across 26 enhanced services. They will continue to be supported by CHP’s primary care analyst Sanjay Dave.
East Integrated Neighbourhood Team (INT) Launch 16 October 2024
The Team members and local health and care leaders celebrated the launch of the first co-located team at Kentish Town Health Centre. CNWL Trust and Camden Council have restructured their adult community nursing and social care teams into the five Camden neighbourhoods. The two PCNs, Kentish Town Central and Kentish Town South are also part of East INT is Camden’s test and learn pilot of co-location.
